Cave Adventures in Belize

Belize is home to the largest cave system in all of Central America.
Most caves hide the evidence of ancient civilizations since the Maya believed that the caves were a portal to the underworld.
If you stay at the new Ka'ana Boutique Resort (rooms from $250) in the Cayo District of Belize, you'll have a great base from which to explore the caves.
The resort offers a number of cave adventures, such as cave tubing, canoeing, and hiking.
One of the adventure tours offered is a canoe excursion to Barton Creek Cave, an eerie Maya burial ground in a 200-foot-high cavern.
